August is always a very exciting month for me as it is my birthday month and also the only full month I have off from school. This year, however, August has been so much more fun than previous years. I think this is because every year I grow up so I have more freedom to do things like go shopping in London with my friends. I had such a lovely birthday this year, I went shopping with my family in Bath which is one of my favourite places in England and I had a barbeque with my friends later on in the month to celebrate.
This months’ favourites has ended up being quite beauty heavy but I have added quite a few new products to my collection. Click the photos for links, enjoy!
Lush face cleanser
I was given this by a friend for my birthday and she said she chose it because the person she spoke to said that it is great on sensitive, dry skin and she was right, it is very gentle on my skin and very hydrating. The marketing is quite funny though because it’s called ‘Ultrabland’ which is funny because it doesn’t make it sound very appealing but I guess it must be reverse physiology or something.
Edblad is a Swedish jewellery company that now stock their lovely pieces all over the UK and Ireland. They very kindly sent me these cute little bracelets which I pretty much haven’t taken off since! The rose gold colour of the star bracelet goes perfectly with the hardware on my new watch and they look super cute together. I love that they are both so dainty and feminine and don’t look too bulky on my wrists. Real Techniques eye brushes
I’ve had my eye on the Zoeva brushes for a really long time now but I finally came to terms with the fact that I probably wouldn’t be able to afford them for quite a while so until then I got this eye brush set from Real Techniques. I knew they would be good before I got them because my sister has them and I have borrowed them before and they have been a great addition to my collection.
Olivia Burton watch
I was so lucky to be given this by my parents for my birthday and it was an amazing surprise (which is a bold statement from me, someone who hates surprises)! I wear a watch every day but my old one was looking very worn and sorry for itself. They picked the perfect one because I love pink and rose gold and the face isn’t too big for my wrist.
Max Factor mascara
I used to use the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof but it was really hard to take off and I was damaging my skin so I got this one that I had heard a lot about. The wand wasn’t what I was expecting because it is quite big but the formula is very lengthening and can hold a curl for a very long time.
Bold Metals contouring brush
The Teen Vouge Handbook: An Insider’s Guide to Careers in Fashion
I was given this by my friend for my birthday and it is a book I would recommend to anybody considering a career in fashion. I haven’t yet read all of it but I am finding it really interesting learning more about all the different roles in the industry. I would also say it is a very good coffee table book as you can just open it on any page and have a quick read.
Floral bomber jacket
I bought this in Bath on my birthday from one of my favourite individual shops called ‘Instant Vintage’. I wasn’t sure if it was my style at first but I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I have been loving finding different ways to style it.
