I haven’t done a beauty post in a while so I thought I would show you a makeup look I’ve been loving recently using my new Stila Eyes Are The Window palette which I was given by my friends for my birthday. I realise now that this eye look is quite similar to the one I’ve already done – Copper Evening Make Up – but I used different products and it is a little more dramatic.
I actually really like this eye look because it is an easy way to wear the recent pink eye shadow trend, which I found was a bit scary at first but once I figured out how to get it into my everyday makeup, I really warmed to it! I now wear this look most weekends and I can’t get enough of pink eye shadow.
To prime my face I used the L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying primer which is great at keeping my makeup on all day and makes my foundation apply really easily and evenly.
I then used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation which I am really liking at the moment. It is very buildable so I can have it high or low coverage depending on what I want on the day but it smells like watermelon which I am not a huge fan of but I’m sure lots of other people would like it.
Lastly I used the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to set my base. Eyebrows
Next I filled in my eyebrows because I find it easier than doing it after my eye shadow.
I started by brushing them against the grain using an eyebrow brush from Boots, then I filled them in with the Mac eye shadow in the shade Charcoal Brown using the Real techniques brow brush. First I draw a line along the base of my brow, emphasising the arch, then I blend it up into the rest of my brow.
I then set them in place with the Rimmel Brow This Way eyebrow gel in the shade 003-Dark Brown. Eye shadow
First I primed my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which is amazing at preventing creasing and keeping it in place all day.
First I applied a bit of ‘Puppy’, a matte grey/brown colour in the crease of my eye using the deluxe crease brush to contour my eyes.
I then packed on the shade ‘Jezebel’ which is a beautiful pinky/coral shimmer all over my lid with the base shadow brush and blended it towards my crease.
After that I darkened my crease by adding a bit of the purple shimmer shade ‘Barefoot’, again, using the crease brush.
I wanted to make the look more dramatic so I added some of the amazing, rich plum shade ‘Pigalle’ to the outer third using a dense Urban Decay brush then blended out the edges.
After that, I applied ‘Kitten’, a lovely pink champagne shimmer, to the inner third of my lid to open my eye up a bit and brighten up the look. I also used the super pigmented white shade ‘Chinois’ to highlight under my brow bone and in my inner corner.
To finish it off, I concealed under my eyes using the Rimmel Wake Up concealer then went back in with ‘Barefoot’ under my eyes using the accent brush.
I used my contouring brush from the Real Techniques Bold Metals range (which I love by the way) and the contour colour from the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette in the shade Coral Glow to contour my cheek bones.
I then applied the blush shade from the palette to my cheeks using my new brush from My Kit Co.
To finish it off, I highlighted my cheek bones using a really nice shade from a Revolution palette which has now been discontinued. Finishing touches
I don’t know why, but mascara is always the last thing I do when I do my makeup and at the moment I have been using the Max Factor Voluptuous False Lash Effect mascara which I love because it is super lengthening and holds a curl for a really long time.
I then finished the look with my Clinique Colour Pop lipstick in the shade Nude Pop.
