So, it’s the first day of 2017 and like most of you, last night I celebrated the end of another busy year. 2016 has been a good year for me, especially as it brought the start of this blog! However, I am super excited for what 2017 will bring as I have lots of fun things and a couple not so fun things (like exams) planned.
This year, we went to a friend’s dinner party like we have the last few years and I thought today I would share with you my New Year’s Eve get ready with me.
Frist I decided to have a bath with the Lush Rose Jam bubble bar which is so nice and soft on your skin. I didn’t wash my hair as I did it the day before and I wanted it to be easy to style but I shaved my legs and washed my face using the Simple face wash.
When I was done in the bath, I cleansed my face with the Lush Ultrabland cleanser which is amazing for sensitive skin as it is so gentle and leaves your face feeling super clean.
After that, I moisturised my body using the Dove Intensive Nourishing Lotion which is so good for dry skin and doesn’t have a very strong scent so it leaves you feeling fresh but not smelling like a candle!
I then used my new Nails Inc nail varnish in the shade Grosvenor Crescent which I got for Christmas. It is a gorgeous dark purple shade that applies soo well. It needs a couple of coats but it looks super glossy and applies evenly when it’s done.
I then did my makeup and I went for a browny-gold eye look with winged eyeliner and the Eyelure number 31 fake lashes. It was the first time I had worn fake lashes and I love them! I didn’t find them too difficult to put on and although they were natural, they just made the whole look a little more dramatic.
I went for quite a strong brow using the Soap and Glory Archery brow pencil and finished the look off with a pinky-purple lip I made by putting the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick in the shade Don’t Pink Of It in the centre of the lip over the Rimmel Lasting Finish lip liner in the shade Wine.
When my makeup was all done, I did my hair and I decided to just go for simple messy curls with all the volume I can get in my super flat hair.
The last thing left to do then was put on my outfit. I wore my black leather skirt from H&M with a black velvet cami top under a black Topshop mesh top. To tie the outfit together, I wore Topshop black heeled boots and a black Topshop choker. So it was a lot of black which isn’t what I usually go for but I actually really liked it and the edgy look.
It was a great night and I am now looking forward to 2017 and all the madness the new year will bring!
